41 actions taken against operators by DGCA: Govt

A total of 41 enforcement action, including suspension/withdrawal of flying permit, have been taken by the DGCA against various scheduled and non-scheduled operators between 2014 and 2016, the government said today.
The total number of enforcement action taken against scheduled and non-scheduled operators were nine in 2014, MoS for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha said in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today.
In 2015 and 2016, the number of these action stood at nine and 23 respectively, he said.
Replying to another question, Sinha said over 7,000 deficiencies (in services) have been found against various scheduled and non scheduled operators between 2014 and September this year.
The number of deficiencies found against various scheduled and non scheduled operators were 2,819 in 2014, which came down to 2452 in 2015, he said.
The number of deficiencies found this year till September stood at 1,740, Sinha said.

The Deficiencies were given to the operator for compliance action and same were closed after ensuring satisfactory action, he said.
Sinha said that a total of 51 show cause (notices) were also issued to these operators for these deficiencies with 14 of them in 2014 and six in 2015.
Thirty one show-cause (notices) have been issued to various operators in this year till September, he said.
