41 govt schools to be set up for girls in Haryana

Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma today said 41 new government senior secondary schools for girls would be opened in the state.
Sharma was replying to a question by Independent MLA Jasbir Deswal regarding improvement in women's education during the ongoing state Assembly session here.
He said 34 schools would be opened in Mewat district alone.
Other such schools include a military school for girls in Khudana village of Mahendragarh district, two schools in Morni Hills, one each in Zainabad and Dhokia of Rewari district, one in Bhiwani city and one in Sonepat city.
He said 32 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya and 36 girl hostels are being established in the educationally backward blocks.
Under Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Programme, 'Balika Manch' have been set up for girls in 5,268 government schools. In 1,536 schools, training in self defence is being imparted to girls studying in classes IX and X. Besides, six government colleges for girls are proposed to be opened, he said.
The minister said in all government schools programmes like Beti Ka Salaam Rashtra Ke Naam, Mera Pehla Gantantra Divas and Kanya Janamohatsav were initiated to honour girls.
Meanwhile, the House adopted an obituary resolution on the death of freedom fighter Shiahram Yadav of Jhajjar district on March 19 and Lance Naik Satender Singh Chauhan of Rewari district who died on March 13.
