Nine Nepalese Sherpas on Wednesday conquered Mount Everest, becoming the first climbers to scale the mountain in two years after a series of deadly disasters forced a shutdown of expeditions to the world's highest peak.
According to officials, 27 climbers, including 13 from Nepal, reached the peak of Everest (8,848 metres) today.
Earlier yesterday, six climbers including three from Nepal, had scaled the Everest, officials said.
An Tourism Ministry official said dozens of the mountaineers have reached Camp IV currently and they are expected to summit the Everest tomorrow.
