A total of 43 candidates filed their nomination papers Monday for the upcoming urban local body polls to the five municipal committees and one municipal council in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district.
The 13 nominations filed for the municipal council election includes four women, an official spokesman said.
Four nominations were filed for the Billawar Municipal Committee.
Thirteen nominations were filed for the Basholi Municipal Committee, out of which six are women, he said.
Similarly, one female candidate filed her nomination for the Lakhanpur Municipal Committee, and three male candidates filed nominations for the Hiranagar Municipal Committee, the official said.
Nine nominations were filed for the Parole Municipal Committee.
Previously, three candidates had filed nominations for Parole, taking the total number to 12, he said.
Till Monday, a total of 46 candidates have filed their nominations for the Kathua urban local body polls of which 11 candidates belong to national parties, two are of state parties and 33 are independents.
