While one person lost his life in Nadia district last month, the second death took place at Jalangi in Murshidabad district, the Officer-on-Special Duty (OSD) in CEO's office Amit Roy Chowdhury said today.
He said that in a state-wide drive against illegal arms and ammunition, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, 1,116 illegal arms and 2,971 cartridge were seized.
Roy Chowdhury said the list of seizures also included 207.1 kg of explosive material and 5,665 bombs. Four arms manufacturing units have also been sealed.
So far 52,981 non-bailable warrants have been executed with 22,188 NBW cases pending, he said.

The Excise department has so far seized 3.39 lakh bulk litres of illicit liquor valued at Rs 2.72 crore, he said.
Apart from this, a total of 13,280 sensitive hamlets and 12,095 probable trouble-makers were identified by the administration, while preventive action had been taken against 11,679 of them, he said.
