46-year-old man found dead in a well in Kolkata

A 46-year-old man was found dead in a well in his house in Salimpore Lane area in southern part of the city today, a senior officer of Kolkata Police said.
The body was floating in the well, the officer said.
The deceased was identified as Asish Kumar Ghosh (46), resident of Salimpore Lane under the jurisdiction of Garfa police station, the officer said.
According to his family members, Ghosh was partially blind since birth and he had turned completely blind recently.
In addition, he was suffering from depression, the officer said.
"Ghosh had developed suicidal tendencies due to financial crisis. The family did not lodged any complaint. We are conducting a probe into the matter though no foul play was detected during preliminary investigation," the police officer said.
