Five persons have been booked for allegedly killing a 50-year-old cleric at Mimlana locality here, police said today.
Maulana Suhel was shot at while he was returning home from the mosque on Wednesday night, they said.
He was rushed to district hospital where he was declared dead, they said.
Prima facie it appears to be a fallout of an old enmity stemming from a love marriage involving the victim's brother Mujib, who married a girl against the wishes of her family, police said, adding that investigation is underway.
