A selection of different painting styles from all over India such as Phad, Pichwai, Pattachitra, Madhubani, Kawad, Temple Mural, paintings with semi precious stones, Kalamkari, Madhubani, miniature painting, Mysore Tribal painting and Guruvayur Mural paintings would be on display, President of Local chapter of Crafts Council of Tamil Nadu (CCTN), Radha Prasad said on the sidelines of the inaugural function.
The Council, through Crafts Bazaar,provides a platform to craftsmen of India to exhibit and sell their wares and translates into the main objective of existence, which is to showcase craft and give a free platform to exhibit their wares to a large customer/consumer base, she said.
Embroideries of India by master crafts like Phulkari, Chikankari, Applique work, Kasauti, Kantha, wooden combs, stone pottery, brass metal craft, reed baskets, palm leaf baskets, copper bells, Cane and bamboo artefacts, lamp shader, grass mats, carpets, Punjabi jutti, jute footwear, camel leather slippers, Bags, Ceramis and Pottery: Kalchatti, Stoneware, Terracotta jugs are at the show
Other crafts on display include Sanjhi, Dokra, dry flowers, leather, copper, horn and shell craft, Lacquer, Jewellery in Terracotta, bead, metal, oxidized and Silver filigree, Fridge magnets and Ceramic artifacts, Natural Fibre mats, rugs and dhurries, Bags and Baskets, and sarees and dress materials in Phulkari, Radha said.
