5 file nominations on day one in Uttarakhand

Dhan Singh Rawat of the BJP and Subhash Chandra Purohit of the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal were among the five candidates who filed their nominations as the process began today for the February 15 state Assembly polls.
Dhan Singh filed his nomination from Pauri Garhwal whereas, Purohit entered the fray from the Doiwala seat in Dehradun district.
Anil Kumar Gupta, an Independent, filed his nomination from Dharampur in Dehradun.
Indresh Maikhuri of the CPI-ML filed his nomination from Karnaprayag in Chamoli district whereas, Independent candidate Sumit filed his papers from Laksar in Haridwar district, the State Election Office said here.
