The Central Reserve Police Force today recovered a five kg Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) from the premises of a temple under Madhuban police station limits of Bihar's East Champaran district.
Deputy Commandant of 153rd battalion of the CRPF, Vikram Kumar, said the IED was recovered from a sack filled with sand and the bomb was defused by a bomb disposal squad.
The CRPF camp is around one km from the temple.
Kumar said police have taken one person in custody in this regard and were questioning him.
It might be recalled that on June 23, 2005 over 200 Maoists had attacked the Madhuban block office in East Champaran district and also targeted the police station and home of then RJD MP from Sheohar constituency, Sitaram Singh.
