A team of Anti Human Trafficking unit checked two children's homes in Delhi and after scrutinising records, zeroed in on the children whose details were dubious.
"First, these children were taken into confidence and after compassionate persuasive conversation, they revealed clues about their native places. Thereafter, their parents were contacted with the help of local police and thus 5 children were sent back to their families," informed Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Delhi.
"Out of these 5 rescued boys aged between 10 to 17 years, 3 were staying at 'Salaam Balak Trust, DMRC' children home near Tis Hazari Courts and two were staying at 'Bal Adhikar Sashaktikaran Kendra' children home Prahladpur," a senior police official said.
"During this special drive, we are checking each and every child in the children homes and making all out efforts to get any clue about their parents/home so that they can be restored properly," he said.
Under this drive named as 'Operation Milap', total 31 children have been rescued and reunited so far within 15 days of its launch.
