5 Nepalese nationals, jeweller held in connection with

Police today claimed to have cracked 10 burglary cases in the national capital with the arrest of five Nepalese nationals and a local jeweller who were allegedly part of a gang involved in those cases.
The accused, including five residents of Nepal, and a local jeweller, were apprehended by a special team of Crime Branch from a park at Sahipur village in Shalimar Bagh on Saturday, DCP(Crime Branch) Ram Gopal Naik said.
Two laptops, jewellery, Rs one lakh in cash, an iPad, a motorcycle and equipment used to break into a house were recovered from the gang members on further investigation and raids, the officer said.
Ten burglary cases in Sarai Rohilla, Lajpat Nagar, Connaught Place, Model Town and Gurgaon have been cracked with the arrest of the gang members, he claimed.
The gang used to gather information from watchmen, cleaners, washermen and target those houses and offices which remained locked for a few days, the DCP said.
The accused have been identified as Ram Bahdhur, Prem Bahadhur, Arjun Nath Thapa, Rajinder Bahadhur and Anil Kumar Pokhrel, all residents of Nepal, and Jairam Shah the jewller, the officer said.
Ram Bahadur has 18 burglary cases registered against him at various police stations in Delhi as well as a case in Punjab. Rajinder Bahadur is also involved in seven burglary cases. Shah has a jewelry shop in Shalimar Bagh and used to buy the stolen items from the gang, the DCP said.
