5 Pak Taliban militants killed in blast

At least five Pakistani Taliban militants, including a self-styled commander, were today killed and three others injured in an IED blast in the restive tribal region in northwest Pakistan.
The incident occurred in Shaktoi area at Ladha tehsil of South Waziristan Agency near the Afghan border.
Officials sources said a bomb planted on the roadside hit a vehicle carrying a Taliban commander and four of his associates in South Waziristan Agency.
"The bomb might have been triggered by remote-controlled device to target the vehicle," an official said.
Taliban commander Amir Hamza and four other militants were killed in the blast.
The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

All of the injured were reported to be in critical condition.
Security forces have begun a search operation.
