5 perish in rain-related incidents in UP, heavy showers in Raj

Rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh claimed five more lives while heavy showers lashed many places in Rajasthan, even as several areas in north India remained dry today.
A day after experiencing a pleasant day, Delhiites today witnessed a cloudy and relatively humid day today.
Some areas of the national capital received very light rains, mostly in the ridge and central Delhi areas.
The maximum temperature remained a notch above normal at 34.6 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 26.7, which was normal for this time of the season, MeT department said.
The weatherman has predicted for tomorrow a generally cloudy sky, with possibility of light rains or thunder showers.
In Uttar Pradesh, moderate to heavy showers lashed various parts of the state, leading to the death of five persons in rain-related incidents.

With this, the total number of deaths this monsoon has reached 196.
Major rivers like Ganga, Yamuna, Sharda and Ghaghra continued to flow above the danger mark at various places.
According to MeT forecast, rain and thundershowers may occur at many places over the state in the next 24 hours.
The desert state of Rajasthan continued to be lashed by heavy monsoon showers with Khirneshar receiving the maximum rainfall at 6 cm in the past 24 hours.
Southwest monsoon got further intensified over western districts of Jaisalmer, Barmer, Churu and Jodhpur where maximum rainfall ranged between 1.8 mm to 19 mm.
Heavy downpours will continue in the entire state in next forty-eight hours, Met officials said.
