50 pc subsidy for pvt companies investing in sports in U'khand

Up to 50 per cent subsidy would be given to private companies investing in sports-related infrastructure in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Harish Rawat said here today, in a bid to attract more investment in the sports sector.
Making the announcement, Rawat said his government was making all-out efforts for promotion of sports in the state.
"Private companies willing to invest on the sports infrastructure sector in the state will get subsidy up to 50 per cent," said Rawat.
"The state government will play the role of a facilitator in promotion of sports, be it through creation of world class infrastructure for sports in the state or giving financial incentives to promising sportspersons," he added.
Rawat said his government was awarding financial as well as other incentives to promising sportspersons.
"Under a new sports policy,heavy incentives are being given to promising sportspersons who prove their mettle at the national and international level, like direct appointment to government jobs," he said.
