52 students of school fall ill due to food poisoning

About 52 students studying in a residential school run by the Backward Caste Welfare Department in Tekkali town fell ill due to food poisoning, official sources said here today.
According to the hostel warden, inmates were served dinner after which some students complained of stomach ache.
They were rushed to the government run hospital at Tekkali where they were given first aid and discharged.
Out of them, two students complained of stomach ache and vomiting sensation once again, after which they were taken to RIMS Hospital at Srikakulam, where they were treated and discharged, sources said.
Minister for Labour K Atchem Naidu visited the hostel and enquired about the health of students, sources said.

He directed hostel authorities to maintain hygiene and serve quality food to students, sources said.
