The personnel, five posthumously, were awarded for displaying exemplary courage and presence of mind in various operational theatres of the force - Left Wing Extremism, counter-insurgency operations in North East and anti-militancy duties in Jammu and Kashmir.
Union Minister of State for Home R P N Singh gave away the medals and citations to the personnel.
During the event, CRPF chief Pranay Sahay congratulated his troopers and asked them to keep the high traditions of the force on their top priority.
The Valour day is observed to mark the unparallelled courage shown on this day in 1965 by a small CRPF contingent, which fought and defeated a full-fledged Pakistani Army Infantry Brigade attack at 'Sardar Post' in Gujarat's Rann of Kutch.
