'56 lakh people in Raj getting benefits of pension schemes'

Nearly 56 lakh people are getting benefits of various pension schemes in Rajasthan with the state government focusing on implementing such programmes in a transparent manner, a state minister said today.
Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Arun Chaturvedi said the government has disposed off nearly 90 per cent cases of scholarships belonging to ST, SC, OBC and SBC candidates which were pending since 2009.
"The government is working in a completely transparent manner to implement the schemes," the minister said at a state-level function on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti.
Remembering Ambedkar, Chaturvedi said his contribution in the upliftment of Dalits, drafting of the Constitution and other works will always be remembered.
"The state government is following the principles of Ambedkar and implementing welfare schemes in a transparent manner," he said.
On the occasion, he also felicitated 11 students for securing good ranks in secondary and senior secondary examination of Boards of Secondary Education - Ajmer, one advocate for his contribution in the field of law and justice and two women for their social work.
