A bench of Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw was also apprised by Delhi Government Standing counsel Zubeda Begum that maximum number of traffic police personnel have been deployed to ensure smooth flow of vehicles on roads.
"...At present Delhi traffic police has provided 857 traffic signals and 401 traffic blinkers all over Delhi for ensuring smooth flow of traffic and safety of pedestrians and other road users.
"A total of 57 traffic signals have been provided with the auditory devices for the safety of visually handicapped persons," Begum, appearing for Delhi traffic police, said.
The court also asked East Delhi Municipal Corporation, North Delhi Municipal Corporation, South Delhi Municipal Corporation, DDA and NDMC to give their replies.

On reservation of parking space for handicapped, various civic bodies said that direction have been issued "to take necessary action to provide the reserved parking space to physically challenged persons, close to the entrances and also earmark the space with signboards as per the guidelines of Master Plan of Delhi 2021".
Meanwhile, traffic police said that they have identified 35 more locations for auditory signals.
