57 officials booked for being absent from election duty

Over 50 officials, including three officers, have been booked for violating the model code of conduct after they were found absent from their duty.
The officials were deployed to make corrections in the voter list ahead of the upcoming local bodies elections here.
According to Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sheetal Gupta, 57 officials were found absent from duty at the time of the correction of the voter list.
They have been booked for violation of the model code of conduct, the SDM said.
