58 bottles of IMFL seized, two arrested

In two separate incidents, 58 bottles of various brands of Indian Made Foreign Liquor smuggled from Mahe were seized today in the district and two persons arrested in this connection, state excise officials said.
Officials intercepted a private bus from Kannur at Kannukara and seized 29 bottles containing 14.5 litres of IMFL. One Vibesh (29) of Kaikambadithalam in the district was arrested, they said.
In a similar incident, 8.1 litres of IMFL, also in 29 bottles, were seized from Sunilkumar (54) of Puthumana near Vadakara in a private bus from Kannur this morning.
They were arrested under provisions of the Abkari Act 1 of 1077, officials said.
