580 Cos showcase film, TV tech equipment at 'Broadcast India'

Over 580 companies from 36 countries showcased the state-of-the-art equipment used in films and television technology at a three-day global exhibition 'Broadcast India' here.
Leading manufacturers like Panasonic, Sony, Blackmagic Design, RED, Accuweather, Imagine Communications, Avid, Adobe, Canon, ARRI, AJA, GoPro, Atomos, MediaGuru, Datavideo, Boston, Zeiss, RCS participated with their latest innovations at the show, according to its director Kavita Meer.
A growing level of interest was observed this year towards quadcopters/octocopters and image stabilising systems, she said in a release.
Higher level of participation was seen from China and European countries as compared to previous years. In total, 36 countries and over 580 companies participated in the show this year, with a visitor footfall of over 19,000.
A two-day conference was also held at the show in which industry experts delivered lectures on various topics.
The event, organised by Saicom Trade Fairs and Exhibitions, showcased the latest in broadcast and film, pro-audio, video, radio, 3D and digital cinema, in their most innovative avatars, the release said.

The topic of the year unequivocally revolved around 4K, not just in the technology and equipment that were showcased, but also as to how next few years would be defining what the global standards are orienting themselves towards.
Among them were companies offering software, Meer said, adding that many Canadian and American companies distribute software programmes to film units in India.
Octocopters used in aerial shoots were on display at the exhibition that concluded yesterday.
Besides, high resolution cameras ranging from 2K to 8K were the highlights of the show, the release said.
On the occasion, Saicom Trade Fairs and Exhibitions Managing Director Ramesh Meer delivered a talk on 'how to make film in a zero budget'.
