Power discom BSES has imparted self-defence training to around 6,200 girls in the past three years under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, a company spokesperson said.
BSES discoms, BYPL and BRPL, have partnered with the Delhi Police's Special Unit for Women amd Children and a private organisation to impart self-defense training to school girls, he said.
Since the programme's inception three years ago, the BSES has trained over 6,200 girls from over 50 schools and educational institutions under the initiative," the spokesperson said.
The 10-day training module involves educating the girls on the importance of speaking out, raising an alarm and getting out of tricky situations, he added.
