Six government employees were today placed under suspension after they were found absent from duty during an inspection by a team of officials here.
The team led by Sub-divisional Magistrate Abid Shah conducted an inspection of Youth Services and Sports department office around 3 PM and found six employees absent from duty, officials said.
The inspection was conducted on the directions of District Magistrate Srinagar following complaints that the government staff in many offices in the flood-affected areas are not adhering to the office timings, they said.
"All the six absent employees were placed under suspension with immediate effect," the officials said, warning the employees of stern action in case they fail to adhere to the office timings.
With the onset of winter, the government has recently rescheduled the office timing and asked its employees to report the duties from 10.30 AM to 4.30 PM.
