The wall of a gas stove making factory collapsed yesterday in the area leaving one person injured, police said.
Following the incident, a rumour spread that the wall collapse was triggered by a gas cylinder blast and many labourers were trapped under the debris, said a senior police officer.
When the police went to the area, some locals allegedly indulged in stone-pelting and accused them of trying to hush up the matter, he added.
The situation was subsequently brought under control and six men were arrested, he said.
