The six Mexican tourists wounded in an attack in Egypt arrived back in Mexico today and were taken in stretchers and wheelchairs to hospitals in their home country.
The five women and one man were lowered from the presidential airplane on mobile platforms. They did not speak to journalists.
Mexico's health secretary, Mercedes Juan, said the victims had suffered burns, respiratory problems or fractures in the attack Sunday.
Eight other Mexicans died when Egyptian forces hunting militants mistakenly attacked their convoy in the western desert.
Survivors have said the attack was carried out by helicopters and an airplane and involved "bombs" dropped on the tourists' vehicles.
Juan said none of the injured had any bullet wounds; she said most were from shrapnel.
The Foreign Relations Department has updated its travel advisory on Egypt, advising Mexicans to "reconsider or postpone their plans to travel to Egypt."
Foreign Relations Secretary Claudia Ruiz Massieu said Mexico has sent a diplomatic note to Egypt demanding it respect the victims' right to compensation.
