However, no casualties were reported in the incident.
According to police, the fire, which was noticed at around 7.45 AM, spread from the main entrance to the adjacent truck parking area and then to the exhibition area in which four trucks and around 60 stalls were gutted.
The fire brigade personnel brought the fire under control within an hour.
"The fire has been brought under control now after four fire engines were pressed into service," an investigating officer said.
Even though further investigation is underway, fire officials suspect that the fire started due to a short circuit.
