60 families evacuated in Mumbra after a building develops

The officials of Thane Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) and fire brigade tonight evacuated 60 families from three buildings in Mumbra after one of the building developed cracks.
RDMC chief Santosh Kadam, said, Riddhi Nivas (G+4) having 20 tenants developed cracks in column and tilted posing threat to the adjacent buildings.
The adjacent two buildings Riddhi Palace and Kamal Niwas which had around 40 tenements were also evacuated as a precautionary measure, he said.
Kadam said around 60 families that have been evacuated from these three buildings have been housed in near by halls.
The officer said the cracks to the columns were noticed on time and so preventive measures could be taken otherwise there would have been a major mishap.
