60 lakh saplings to be planted in Punjab

Punjab government will soon launch a Rs 90 crore project to plant saplings in four districts of the state.
Under the project, the state government would plant 60 lakh saplings in 3,000 hectare area of the Malwa belt of the state, an official spokesman said here today.
"This will give relief from the problem of water logging in some pockets of Malwa belt in the state," the spokesman said.
Eucalyptus would be planted in 3,000 hectare area of the districts Muktsar, Bathinda, Faridkot and Fazilka to eliminate water logging.
