Chief Minister Nitish Kumar formally inaugurated the championship at an impressive function attended by hundreds of athletes serving with various paramilitary and police units of 21 states.
Kumar greeted the participants and wished them luck in the championship, besides dedicating the newly-laid Mithilesh Stadium to the people of Bihar, particularly sportspersons.
He spent quality time at the championship and watched the 100 meters sprint of policemen and policewomen before distributing prizes to the medal winners.
Meanwhile, Kerala Police's Rajit K G won the 100 meter sprint title in 10.77 second, while his statemate Rahul J Pillai and Maharashtra Police's Vaibhav Yez came second and third respectively in 10.9 and 11 seconds respectively.
In 100 meter sprint for women, Kerala Police's Sini S stood first with a time of 12.16 second, while Maharashtra Police's Hema Bhangi and CRPF's Sarabjit Kaur came second and third in 12.24 and 12.42 seconds respectively.
In 1500 meters sprint category, CRPF's Wahida Rahman won the title after completing the race in 4.28 minutes, while Sumuti Laguri (Odisha Police) and Kiranjit Kaur (CRPF) came second and third respectively, while in 10,000 meters category, L Chaobachanu of CRPF emerged winner with a timing of 36.27 minute.
