A 65-year-old man died after he was allegedly attacked with rods by his neighbours following an altercation over parking in south Delhi's Fatehpur Beri area, police said today.
According to police, the incident took place yesterday at around 10 P.M. At Gadaipur village in Fatehpur Beri. The deceased, identified as one Bishandas, breathed his last today at the AIIMS Trauma Centre.
Four persons, identified as Ghanshyam, Rohit, Rahul and Girdhari, have been arrested by police in this connection.
Police said it all began yesterday when Bishandas's nephew Kailash Chandra returned home in his car. Chandra saw that a truck was parked in front of the house, occupying the space where they were supposed to park their car.
An argument ensued between the driver of the truck and Chandra and Kailash's father Chandrabhan and relatives Bishandas and Amritlal, too, joined in the same.
"The matter subsided and the truck left the spot. However, within minutes, five to six men reached there with rods, vandalised the car and thrashed the four persons of Kailash's family," police said.
Kailash, Chandrabhan, Bishandas and Amritlal sustained serious injuries in the attack and were rushed to hospital where Bishandas succumbed to his injuries today.
A case has been registered in the matter under Sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (causing hurt), 452 (trespass) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code, police said, adding that "after Bishandas's death, the charge of murder under Section 302 has been added to the case".
