673 kg ganja seized in Patna

The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) officials today seized a truck laden with 673 kg of contraband ganja valued at around Rs 67 lakh from near Dhanuki Mor in the state capital today.
The seizure was made on the basis of a tip off, EOU Inspector General Praveen Vashista said.
The narcotic weed was kept in 59 packets concealed in a chamber designed inside the driver's cabin.
Three persons namely Manoj Kumar, Lal Bahadur Thakur, Jay Chandra Jha have been arrested in this connection.
"The truck is a stolen one. It was coming from Odisha. We are investigation about the place where the consignment of ganja was loaded and the place where it was to be delivered," Vashista said.
An FIR has been lodged at the EOU police station in Patna and the arrested persons have been charged under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
