69 Indian fishermen received at IMBL

In the latest repatriation of fishermen from Sri Lanka, 69 Indian fishermen were today received by the country's Coast Guard at the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL), a senior official said.
"Coast Guard ship ICGS Vigraha took over 15 boats and 69 fishermen from two Sri Lankan Coast Guard ships at 1.40 pm today," Inspector General, Satya Prakash Sharma, Coast Guard East Regional Commander told PTI.
The ship was proceeding to Karaikal and would be handed over to fisheries department officials on arrival, he said.
The Coast Guard has repatriated 191 Indian fishermen with 30 of their boats and 111 Lankan fishermen with four of their boats this month alone.
A total of 124 Lankans and 23 boats and 391 Indian fishermen and 23 boats were repatriated last year, according to the Indian Coast Guard.
