7 arrested for abducting a man from New Seelampur

With the arrest of seven person, Delhi police today claimed to have solved a case of kidnapping of 25-year-old man from New Seelampur here for ransom.
Mohammed Arshad, who was abducted from New Seelampur locality on Tuesday and a ransom of Rs one lakh was made by the abductors, was rescued from Behta Hajipur village of Ghaziabad yesterday, police said today.
Pushpinder alias Bunty, Rajesh alias Raju, Rajinder, Bihari Lal, Sanjay Bhardwaj, Pawan Kumar Dhama and Dhirender Bhardwaj have been arrested in the case.
According to police, Arshad's father Nisar Ahmed had registered an FIR after his friend called him and told that Arshad has been kidnapped by some persons and they were demanding a ransom of rupees one lakh otherwise he will be killed.
During investigation, police found that Arshad was kept at village Behta Hajipur in Ghaziabad. Police then laid a trap and Ahmed to remain in touch with the abductors, a senior official said.
Yesterday, Ahmed received a call from his son on his mobile phone and was asked to reach at Behta Hajipur railway station along with ransom money.
The abductors were arrested as soon as they came to receive the money.
