7 kg heroin, fake Indian currency smuggled from Pak, seized

Border Security Force today seized seven kilogram heroin worth Rs 35 crore and some fake Indian currency, which were allegedly smuggled from Pakistan to India.
Acting on specific information, seven kg heroin, fake currency with a face value of Rs 38,000 and one Pakistani SIM card were also seized along the Indo-Pak border in Amritsar Sector, BSF DIG RPS Jawal said.
BSF troops carried out the operation in Border Out Post Mullakot Amritsar Sector where they recovered the articles concealed near the tubewell situated between Border Security Fence and International Boundary in the Indian territory, Jawal said.
However, no arrest had been made in connection with the seizure.
Jaswal said the troops were on high alert as intelligence inputs were received regarding threat of smuggling from the area.
