70 per cent polling booth in E Singhbhum are sensitive/hyper

Around 70 per cent of the polling booths in East Singhbhum district where polling would be held tomorrow in six assembly seats have been identified as either sensitive and hyper-sensitive, a top district official said today.
Out of the total 1630 polling booths, 662 polling station were identified as sensitive and 468 as hyper-sensitive, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Amitabh Kaushal said.
Jugsalai and Jamshedpur West assembly segments topped the chart as far as sensitive and hyper-sensitive booths are concerned followed by Jamshedpur East constituency.
While 127 booths are sensitive, 104 are hyper-sensitive of total 318 booths in Jugsalai, in Jamshedpur West 101 booths are sensitive and 129 hyper-sensitive followed by Jamshedpur East constituency, where out of total 264 booths, 192 are sensitive and 31 hyper-sensitive, Kaushal said.
In the extremist-hit Ghatsila and Potka ST seats around 65 per cent booths are sensitive and hyper-sensitives out of total 531 seats.
When his attention was drawn that majority of the sensitive and hyper-sensitive polling stations are in urban pockets, Kaushal said all the parameters set by the election commission have been taken into account before identifying sensitive and hyper-sensitivity of the booths.
As far as urban pockets was concerned, it was due to political aspect, he said.
Kaushal said adequate forces are available to hold a peaceful polling tomorrow in the district, where altogether 75 candidates for six assembly segments including Baharagora are in the fray.
