The Delhi government today decided that 77 playgrounds of its schools can be used for outdoor sports activities that includes events by sports associations and clubs.
The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, a senior government official said.
The Cabinet approved the Department of Education's proposal to allow 77 playgrounds of government schools which are run in single shifts, for outdoor sports activities for the students and youth of the respective areas.
"Besides, individuals interested in sports activities can also use these premises for training and coaching students," the official said.
According to the government, the permission for using these playgrounds will be given by the concerned district Deputy Director of Education after a written proposal will be forwarded by concerned heads of schools.
