8 held for helping aspiring teachers cheat in recruitment exam

Eight persons including a professor of Sardar Patel Medical College were arrested while they were allegedly helping candidates cheat during a teachers' recruitment examinations here today.
The eight-member gang was arrested from outside an examination centre in the city's Marudhara Colony following a tip-off from Premdan Charan who was caught here on February 21 on similar charges.
The accused were identified as Sardar Patel Medical College professor Suresh Kumar Bishnoi, Shravn Choudhary, Patwari Balwant Saran, Abhishek, Guaru Kaler, Tulsiram, Ramniwas and Sudhir Sharma.
Explaining the gang's modus operandi, police said they would provide a small bluetooth device, known as 'makhi' (fly), to the contracted candidates and a gang member posing as an examinee would put a device under his table and dictate the answers to them over phone.
The gang would charge anything between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 7 lakh from each candidate, police said, adding that further investigations into the matter were on.
The IIIrd Grade Teachers Recruitment Examinations were being conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission.
