8 killed in UP, moderate to heavy showers lash North India

Rain-related incidents claimed eight lives in Uttar Pradesh today with moderate to heavy showers lashing most parts of North India.
It was a pleasant day in the national capital with cloud covers keeping the temperatures within the normal level.
During the past 24 hours ending at 8.30 AM in the morning, the city received a total of 44.2 mm rains while rainfall between 8.30 am to 5.30 pm in the day was recorded at 0.2 mm.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 33.1 degree Celsius which was one degree below the normal level while the minimum was recorded at 24.4 degree Celsius, two degree below the normal level.
The weatherman has predicted a generally cloudy sky tomorrow with possibility of rains and thundershowers in some areas.
In Uttar Pradesh, eight persons lost their lives in rain-related incidents in the last 24 hours with moderate to rather heavy showers lashing several areas in the state.
Seven persons, including three children were killed and five others injured in separate incidents of house collapse due to rains in Kannauj and Azamgarh districts, whereas one death was reported from Barabanki district, officials said.
Accroding to Central Water Commission, major rivers like Ganga, Yamuna, Sharda and Ghagra continued to flow above the danger mark.
