8 KPLT militants apprehended

Eight Karbi People Liberation Tigers (KPLT) militants were today apprehended and arms were recovered from their possession in Assam's Karbi Anglong district, a defence spokesman said.
Acting on a tip-off, troops of the army's Red Horns Division launched a joint operation with the police in Silonijan area in the eastern parts of the district and apprehended eight KPLT militants from the area, the spokesman said.
A 7.65 mm pistol and a .22 pistol along with some ammunition were recovered from the militants.
The apprehended cadre have been identified as Boson Rongpi, Puttu Nath, Pradip Nath Bhaiti, Pawan Chetry, Sibdhan Dibra, Suatom Thausam, Repenjit Naiding, and Arjun Sorongsa.
