8 lakh new voters added in Haryana

In Haryana, about eight lakh new persons have been added to the voters' list after the revision of electoral rolls, a senior Electoral officer said here today.
The number of voters in the state are now 1,55,94,427 which included 84,42,220 males and 71,52,207 females.
"Photo voter lists of all the Assembly constituencies in Haryana have been amended with respect to January 1, 2014 as qualifying date by including all eligible electorate of 18 years or above age," Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Srikant Walgad said.
He said that the Draft Roll for Summary Revision 2014 has been published on September 6, 2013.
Applications in respective forms have been invited from the public for inclusion, deletion and modification of entries. The last date for submitting applications was October 25, 2013, Walgad said.
All eligible voters have been included and names of all ineligible voters have been removed from the lists.

The final publication of these lists would be carried out by the Commission on January 15, 2014 at all publication sites for inspection by people, he said.
He appealed to all the voters to visit the concerned Block Level Officers (BLOs), Electoral Registering Officers or Assistant Electoral Registering Officers to check the voter lists and ensure that their names have been included in the list, all information is correct and names of ineligible voters have been removed from the list.
He said that in case there is any other fault in the electoral rolls and if their name is not included in the list then they should immediately submit duplicate copies of concerned form No 6, 6A, 7, 8 and 8A to BLOs.
Walgad urged the left out eligible voters to get their name included in the list by immediately submitting duplicate copies of form No 6 to concerned officers.
The photo electoral cards of new voters have been prepared, he said adding that these would be distributed on the occasion of National Voters' Day- January 25, 2014 at concerned voting centres.
