8 mobile phones recovered from jail inmates, case lodged

Eight mobile phones, chargers and some batteries were allegedly recovered from the inmates of Ambala jail during a raid, police said today.
A case against seven inmates was registered by Baldevnagar police under relevant provisions of the law.

Meanwhile, the DCP Ambala had constituted a SIT team under the supervision of ACP Hitesh Yadav to find trace those who supplied mobiles to inmates.
Some SIM cards were also recovered from the inmates last night.
The police had also registered two cases after the jailed gangsters demanded money from a businessmen.
In a bid to put an end to the illegal use of mobile phones by inmates, the jail authorities have sought installation of hi-tech jammers in the premises.
There are 19 jails in Haryana including 3 central jails and 16 district jails.
