The 80th Session of the three-day Policy Commission of the World Customs Organisation (WCO) will begin here from December 3.
Issues like trade facilitation and controlling illicit financial flow will be discussed during the three-day event, the opening session of which will be addressed by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, an official release said.
The meeting is being organised by the World Customs Organisation (WCO) and hosted by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), India and will continue till December 5, it added.
Top officials of WCO and Customs delegations from more than 30 countries will be participating in the three day long discussion.
The Indian delegation will be headed by CBIC Chairman S Ramesh along with Member (Customs) P K Das and other senior officers.
Some of the important topics which will be discussed during the meeting include trade facilitation, controlling illicit financial flow, performance measurement, challenges of small island economies among others.
Hosting the Policy Commission session will give global presence and leadership role to the country in the area of Customs procedures and will give a boost to India's thrust in facilitating trade, it said.
