In a written reply to a question by Congress MLAs Shankar Dhruva, Health and Family Welfare Minister Amar Agrawal said that 9,479 jaundice patients were registered since 2013, until June 20 this year.
Total 6,734 patients were registered till June this year, and total 2,745 cases were received last year, it said.
Of these, 5,556 patients were provided treatment in government hospitals, while 798 were treated in private hospitals of the state, it said.
As per the reply, 81 deaths due to the life threatening diseases were reported in the state during this period.
Elaborate arrangements were made at government hospitals to ensure proper treatment for jaundice patients and free medicines were provided to them, it said.
