82 GoMs and EGoMS during UPA-II

The UPA-II government has constituted 68 Group of Ministers and 14 Empowered Group of Ministers since coming to power in May, 2009 and 25 GoMs and seven EGoMs are currently at work while others have submitted their reports.
Finance Minister P Chidambaram is a member of all EGoMs while Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia is a member of five of them. He is also a special invitee to another EGoM.
Defence Minister AK Antony's name figures among members of four EGoMs.
Minister of State in Prime Minister's Office V Narayanasamy said in Lok Sabha today in reply to a question that his ministry did not have information about the numbers of meetings these groups had and what actions the government had taken on their reports as the relevant data is maintained by the ministries concerned.
