84 nominations filed for 9 assembly seat by-polls in Gujarat

On the last day of filing nomination papers for nine assembly seats going for by-polls on September 13, 63 candidates of different parties filed their nomination papers today, taking the total tally to 84.
According to a list issued by the Joint Chief Electoral Officer of Gujarat Ashok Manek, 63 candidates filed their nomination papers with respective election officers for nine assembly seats today.
These nine assembly seats include Deesa, Tankara, Mangrol, Talaja, Maninagar, Anand, Matar, Limkheda and Khambhalia.
With 63 nominations filed today, the total number of nominations from nine seats reached 84 on the last day.
These nominations also include dummy candidates of the BJP and the Congress, who will eventually withdraw their candidature.
As per a notification issued by the Chief Elector Officer, the last day to withdraw candidature is August 30.
