85.28 pc students pass annual HSC examination in Odisha

A total of 85.28 per cent students passed the annual High School Certificate Examination, 2017 in Odisha as against 83.32 per cent last year.
Announcing the results, School and Mass Education minister Debi Prasad Mishra said a total of 2,416 students have passed in A1 Grade.
The number of students who have cleared the tests in A2, B1 and B2 are 23,472, 61,981 and 1,01,548, respectively, Mishra said adding, 748 schools have achieved 100 per cent result this year.
The examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Cuttack, witnessed better success rate of girls than the boys. While the success rate of girls was 86.69 per cent, 86.04 per cent of boys passed the examination.
Deogarh emerged as the top among 30 districts of the state for the fourth time in a row, where 96.49 per cent students passed the annual HSC examination.
The examination was conducted from February 28 to March 10.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated the successful students.
"Congratulations to the proud students who matriculated today. May your hard work and parents' sacrifices be rewarded. God bless." Patnaik tweeted.
