85 gms of heroin seized in Aizawl

Supply Reduction Service (SRS), anti drug squad of the central committee of the Young Mizo Association (YMA) seized 85 grams of heroin from Chanmari West area in Aizawl on Sunday night, YMA sources said.
The sources said that the seized heroin, worth around Rs three lakh in the local market, was smuggled from Myanmar via Zokhawthar hamlet in Mizoram-Myanmar border Champhai district.
One woman, whose name was yet to be revealed, was trafficking heroin from Zokhawthar hamlet by using five people, the sources said, adding that the contraband was handed over to the authorities.
