85-year-old man commits suicide

An elderly man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree near his residence at Karukkampalayam near Nambiyur in the district, police said today.
Body of Karupannan (85) was found hanging from the tree by his wife Palaniammal (80) this morning, they said.
The victim was suffering from some age-old related ailments since a long time and could have taken the extreme step out of frustration, police claimed.
Further probes are on, they added.
