The schedule for the polls is yet to be announced by the Election Commission, though.
Station House Officers (SHOs) and Circle Officers have been asked to make regular visits to their areas and take feedback, said DIG Agra Range, Mahesh Kumar Mishra.
"86 sensitive booths in Mathura have been identified and work to ensure free and fair polling have started," he said.
Additional armed police personnel would be deployed in "hyper-sensitive" booths like Bishambhara, Hathia, Dauseras, Madhaura and Mudseras, Mishra said.

The senior police officer made it clear that strict action will be taken against those possessing illegal arms and their manufacturers and dealers.
He has ordered SHOs and other senior police officers in a meeting to take tough action against criminals and ensure that an enviroment conducive for free and fair voting is created.
"While the police has been asked to take preventive steps against people with criminal record, they have been told to record details about their present profession also," he said.
